About the role

This role is responsible to provide to provide department managers & superintendents with necessary information to be able to control their costs/budgets, month-end financial transaction reviews and to continually improve the business systems and processes within the Department to enhance efficiency, budget compliance and overall cost effectiveness.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Track daily expenditure and provide daily, weekly, and monthly cost variance analysis reports to all Sections within the Asset Management Department.
• Assist in preparing the Department’s end-of-month and quarterly cost reports. This includes detailed commentary explaining both positive and negative variances to budget.
• Review invoicing from Contractors and ensure that POs are approved, receipted, and are accurate and paid in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of annual (3 year) operating budgets.
• Assist in preparation of CERs.
• Assist in sourcing quotations and creating Purchase Requisitions for goods and services.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must a bachelor’s degree and/or Graduate Diploma in Business/Business Administration with CPA, CA, CMA or equivalent accounting designation is desirable. You must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Cost Controller or Business Analyst role – preferably in the mining industry. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Good level of English literacy - sound report writing skills, with use of finance and accounting terminology.
• Good level of competency using the MS Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point).
• Familiarity/experience with Pronto ERP – specifically Finance, Supply and Maintenance modules.
• Project Management experience – coordinating small projects.
