K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our underground mining team, you will provide comprehensive training in safe mining practices as well as all types of mining heavy equipment within the underground mining environment. In this role you will assess operator competencies to ensure they meet the required standards and issue appropriate licences.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Teach classroom and practical, hands-on field sessions on underground equipment (such as trucks, jumbos, bolters, and LHD loaders) and mining processes.
• Educate workers on hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response, and site safety procedures.
• Conduct evaluations, verifications of competency (VOC), and workplace observations to sign off on operator clearances.
• Assist in creating lesson plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date attendance and training progression records.
• Coach and mentor new hires, contractors, and transitioning
• Provide, maintain, and improve underground mining employee's competency levels through training and assessment.
• Carry out inductions to personnel as required and assist in onboarding of personal.
• Facilitate training on all heavy equipment and ensure that all underground personal and comply to the site approved training programs.
• Organise allocated training for trainees.
• Present Power Point training presentations.
• Conduct a final competency check of all operators before authorising issue of Licence.
• Provide necessary training in site standards and SOP’s.
• Manage the delivery of training programs to K92 employees in accordance with training outcomes and agreed objectives
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear example to others.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.
• Ensure Training & Development is conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you

• Possess minimum of Grade 10 education.
• Prior experience as a supervisor.
• Prior experience as a trainer is essential.
• Must have Certificate IV in Workplace Training TRA40B Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in underground mining as a miner / operator.
• Previous certificates in operating underground mining equipment
• Must have a current PNG Class 6 Drivers licence.
• Be able to provide current police clearance
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
• Well-developed computer skills.
• Good planning & organizational skills with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and the self-discipline to achieve tasks on time with minimal supervision.
• Able to accept authority and discipline.
• First Aid Certificate
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to present and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrable ability to handle crises.
