K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.
We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role
In this role you will lead all operational facets of Exploration, including safety, administration, logistics, drilling, surface mapping/surveying/sampling, database and drill pad construction
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate Exploration Operations – Oversee all aspects of exploration activities including drilling, mapping, sampling, logistics, safety, and contractor management across multiple sites.
Plan & Monitor Programs – Develop and manage exploration budgets, track costs, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and lead internal/external reporting on tenements and activities.
Geological Analysis – Support geochemical and geological modelling, prospect ranking, scheduling, and technical reviews to guide exploration strategies and priorities.
Drill Pad & Infrastructure Oversight – Manage the design, construction, inspection, and monitoring of drill pads and associated site infrastructure.
Team Development – Train, mentor, and manage exploration staff and contractors, foster a high-performance culture, and drive capability development across the team.
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance – Lead licence applications, renewals, and reporting, and facilitate Mine Warden Hearings, ensuring all requirements are met through systems like LeaseControl.
Health, Safety & Environment – Implement and promote strong safety practices, develop Site Work Plans, and monitor safety performance across exploration areas.
About You
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geophysics or Geoscience.
• Extensive work experience in exploration of epithermal and/or porphyry systems
• Computer proficiency and the ability to analyse numerical and graphical data.
• Able to manage, guide and train the geology team to deliver high quality output
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for communication, rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
