About the Role
The Superintendent – GIS & Database plays a critical role in leading K92’s spatial data management, community asset mapping, and stakeholder information systems. This role ensures the accuracy, security, and accessibility of all social performance data to support evidence-based decision-making across the mine life cycle.

Key Accountabilities
This position is responsible for managing spatial and non-spatial data systems, maintaining standards, and ensuring compliance with social performance commitments. Responsibilities include:

• Leadership & Team Oversight – Supervise the GIS & Database team, mentor staff, and ensure quality outputs are delivered on time and within standards.
• Systems & Standards Management – Maintain GIS and database workflows, templates, and registers in line with the Spatial Data & Community Asset Management Standard.
• Data Integrity & Compliance – Safeguard accuracy, completeness, and security of all social performance data, ensuring readiness for audit and IFC compliance.
• Collaboration & Integration – Work closely with Community Affairs, Exploration, Environmental, and Mine Planning teams to align data and support operational needs.
• Stakeholder & Commitment Support – Provide mapping and database support for landowner verification, compensation agreements, and external reporting.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical expertise and experience in GIS and database management, ideally within mining or related industries. You will also demonstrate:

• Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Sound experience in GIS and data management within mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, or environmental sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS, QGIS, and database management systems, with strong skills in data integration and analysis.
• Experience with customary land tenure systems and community mapping in PNG or similar contexts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualisation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible information for non-technical stakeholders.
