About the role

As part of the Fixed Plant Maintenance team, the primary purpose of this position is to provide technical electrical and instrumentation support in all operational and maintenance aspects, including high and low voltage, process control systems, control circuits VSD’s and protection relays.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensuring the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by applying effective preventative maintenance practices through scheduled inspections, adjustments, and timely repair of equipment.
• Program and maintain HV protection relays ensuring electrical discrimination and protection is maintained.
• Direct and train subordinates to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and machines.
• Ensure and maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with mine safety regulations for all tasks performed.
• Installation, maintenance, and programming of motor variable speed devices (VSD’s)

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a NATTB Trade Certificate as well as a current electrical license. You will also need to demonstrate experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally within a mining / minerals processing environment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Experience in programming of VSD’s and have Instrumentation knowledge.
• Knowledge of Australian standards including AS3000 Electrical Installation and AS/NZS 3008 Electrical selection of cables. 
• Experience with large Ball Mills and/or SAG Mills electric drive circuits.
