K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This position reports to the Supervisor, Asset Protection and will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our growing gold site at Eastern Highlands.  

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure asset protection and compliance with company policies, security standards, and safety regulations, including voluntary principles on security and human rights.
• Monitor, inspect, and maintain security systems and conduct searches to prevent unauthorized items, theft and tampering.
• Safeguard valuables and personnel through vehicle escort duties, perimeter patrols, and rapid response to emergencies or law-and-order issues.
• Manage crisis situations and emergency preparedness, including fire and rescue training, arresting illegal miners, and making swift decisions during incidents.
• Perform administrative and liaison duties, such as clearance of terminated employees, reporting suspicious activities, and collaborating with Community Relations on security matter

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have

• Have at least 3 years or more in a mining environment but must have worked previously as police, correctional services, or military personnel or similar with no criminal record.
• Possess training equivalent to Police/Correctional or Military.
• PNG Drivers Licence
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Can be able to manage the safety and/or security and asset protection department.
• Physically fit and healthy.
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports
