About the role

The Coordinator - Electrical (UG) is responsible for the effective coordination of personnel engaged in electrical maintenance of the power generation and underground distribution plant. The role ensures optimum equipment availability and reliability in relation to electrical maintenance by taking ownership of equipment and actioning any electrical maintenance requirements in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Effectively communicate on day-to-day maintenance issues with the Superintendent and with other Sections and work groups by providing updates of relevant issues and seeking information or input as required.
  • Liaise with relevant sections to provide input to various maintenance activities, e.g., assist the Maintenance Planning Section in the planning and development of day-to-day and weekly maintenance activities and work closely with procurement personnel.
  • Implement consistent compliance with set maintenance priorities by effectively planning personnel and material resources, effectively communicating day-to-day maintenance priorities with Supervisors, and monitoring and following up on consistency of maintenance standards and practices.
  • Train and direct the Technician Electrician to ensure they work as required to support the Planning and Scheduling activity and to ensure they correctly prepare work order work packages for the supervisors.
  • Compile Monthly reports and reports on KPI’s and any report required by management.
  • Support Project activities within the process plant maintenance group
  • Create and maintain annual maintenance schedule and budget include monthly and quarterly cost

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have Electrical Trade qualifications and/or higher certification in an Electrical Engineering discipline, along with experience in either the Mining, Construction, Engineering or Oil and Gas industries. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

  • Must be a NATTB Level 3 Electrical Mechanic Tradesman with PNG Power EW10 certification.
  • Maintain current electrician’s license to meet government regulations.
  • Must have wide experience in the installation and maintenance of underground power distribution systems, transformer installations, motor control centres, LVHV transfers, and starters.
