About the role

Joining the surface haulage team, as Cost Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the newly created surface haulage department team for the day-to-day general cost review report, daily weekly and monthly tracking and analysis of the  Surface Haulage Services (SHS) Department and supporting the staff team.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure that cost reports are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the mine department project controls processes and procedures.
• Manage and track capital expenditures for the mine department.  
• Reclassification of GL cost for the Surface Haulage Services
• Advice the HOD Surface Haulage Services on the day-to-day forecasting expenditures and tracking cost.
• Do monthly cost accruals for the Surface Haulage Services
• Prepare end of week cost review reports for Surface Haulage Services
• Liaise with section heads as required to maintain awareness of cost spending and their impact on the budget.
• Track daily general consumables at the mine use (fuel) and physical quantities hauled (ie tonnes).
• Where required, prepare, and provide weekly report of consumables and physical quantities in Surface Haulage Services
• Attend to other administrative duties in line with role and as instructed by immediate Supervisor.
• Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a Tertiary Qualification in Business Management or similar. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• 3 years’ experience as a cost controller /specialist.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Exposure to brownfield project or underground mining
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
• Sound planning and organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer and courteous.
• PNG National Driver’s License, gain and maintain site license.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read and write both in Pidgin and English.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Maintain work relationship with colleagues
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
