K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This position reports to the Supervisor, Diamond Drilling and will be responsible for operating LM90 Diamond Drill rigs and recovering an accurate sample/core as per K92 mining specification, in a safe, cost-effective and timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Management of the diamond drill tooling, inventory and all related machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose down hole problems and remedy issues that may arise.
• Ensure survey data is being recorded and reported correctly and in a timely manner.
• Ensure diamond drill core recovery is maximised and displayed correctly.
• Ensure record keeping is completed correctly and in a timely manner for drill reports, consumables and any other requirements as identified.
• Ensure effective processes for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members are in place.
• Direct and train employees on appropriate and effective drill practices and techniques.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have:

• Minimum 3 years experiences drilling with LM90 for Underground
• Possess certified Miner training certificate in area of hand-held mining.
• Knowledge in mining safety regulations.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Perform down hole surveys.
• Grouting and sealing of bore holes.
• Ability to read and write both in Pidgin and English.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Able to speak both English and Pidgin.
• Maintain work relationship with colleagues
• Ability to meet agreed schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
