K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This position will provide support to the Senior Geologist – Database & GIS in managing all data and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) files emanating from the exploration teams activities.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Manage geological databases, validate weekly field and drill data, and perform QA/QC checks.
• Compile reports and create maps, tables, and 3D geological models for presentations and interpretation.
• Prepare internal and statutory reports, forecasts, and SOPs within strict deadlines.
• Monitor drilling productivity, oversee sample submissions, and ensure accurate core logging and data processing.
• Review historical data, update geological interpretations, and assist in target ranking.
• Participate in planning exploration programs and conduct technical reviews with senior geologists.
• Promote and enforce a safe work environment and adherence to HSE standards.
• Ensure drilling and sampling are conducted safely and competently.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology (Preferable), Geophysics or Geoscience or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• 5+ years relevant exploration, mining or GIS work experience essential.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, including Access and SQL Database systems software. Proficiency in GIS software. The ability to analyse numerical and graphical data, including experience with 3D modelling software.
• Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
