K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Responsible for operating different types of Heavy Equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to carry out earth moving tasks as directed by the shift supervisor for general mining operations.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Safely operate different types of Heavy Equipment as part of processing and mining work plan pre task jobs.
• Ensure safe operation of the LHD equipment to meet targets and report any irregularities immediately.
• Observe and adhere to the workplace health & safety is warranted
• Perform daily safety prestart maintenance checks.
• Responsible for loading and transporting ore or ore waste.
• Ensure the equipment is delivered for service when scheduled.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must obtain a minimum qualification of Grade 8 or above with experience in operating, Backhoe, Forklifts and Telehandlers. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Possess current Class 7 driver’s license.
• Must have operating certificate.
• Understanding of different culture/community issues
• Ability to read and write in English and Pidgin
• Sound communication & technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to work long hours.
• Sound planning and organizational skills
