K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This position reports to the Senior Geologist Mining and forms part of the Mining team accountable for providing geological and Geotechnical support across the organization.

Observe and adhere to the workplace health & safety policies to ensure safety of employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Train in all appropriate aspect area of exploration and underground mine geology services.
• Undergo training to do all mine sampling activities – not limited to faces, stopes, broken ore, self-mined ore, PAF/NAF, stockpiles on regular basis.
• Training on drill core logging, core sampling, density tests – to ensure   correct QA/QC protocols are adhered to.
• Train on production data tracking management

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a bachelor’s degree in Geology as minimum. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• 1+ years relevant mining or exploration work experience.
• Able to perform duties under minimum supervision.
• Must be a self-starter and very resourceful and of sober habit.
• Good health and physical ability a pre-requisite, as is the ability to live in a remote environment with limited facilities.
