K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Lead and supervise a Service Crew underground as Leading Hand. Tasks include but are not limited to grouting, water and air installation, scaling and barring, installation of other mine services, drilling requirements to be used Air leg and Rock Drills.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Lead a team of Service Crew workers through their day to day operations
• Provide a high level of experience and knowledge in training to other crew members
• The pumping of cement into drilled holes to stabilize ground support.
• Lifting of mixing equipment into workbasket.
• Cleaning of equipment and vehicle after use.
• The wash down and scaling / barring of loose rocks from the walls and backs of an underground tunnel 
• Roll out water hoses from services to broken rock.
• Install cable bolts into drill holes in backs of underground tunnel that are used for extra ground support.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are physically strong and healthy and have minimum Grade 10 level of education. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• Previous experience working as an underground Leading Hand on Service Crew, Paste Crew or Projects Crew
• Extensive experience working in underground mining
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licenses (RPL’s)
• Valid Manual Drivers License
• Minimum 1 year experience in underground mine work environment.
• Ability to read and write in both Tok Pisin and English.
• Be always very safety conscious and be able to identify risks.
• Must be a local from Mine impact areas.
