About the role
Gold room Operators are skilled technicians responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gold room and gravity recovery circuits including the;
• Gravity recovery processes including Falcon Concentrator and shaking tables
• Calcining and smelting of concentrate to dore
• Maintaining the highest levels of product security and accurate record keeping.
• Operational management of the tails storage facility and return water.
Key / Major Accountabilities
Key accountabilities of this position include.
• Perform the day-to-day operation of the gold room and TSF including;
o Gravity recovery circuit comprising scalping screen, Falcon concentrator, shaking tables
o Calcining and smelting of concentrate to dore
o Preparation of required reagents
o Management of tailings deposition and plant return water systems
o Management of off-site water discharges from the TSF
o Dore shipment
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of Grade 10 school Certificate with good personal attributes, and 3 years’ experience in gold room operation. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.
• Valid PNG Class 3 license (essential)
• Machinery license's including loader, skid steer, telehandler (desirable)
• Previous experience in a process plant (desirable).
• An appropriate trades trade certificate (desirable)
• You must be physically fit
• to enjoy practical and manual activities
• to be able to read and follow written instructions in English.
• the ability to work as part of a team.
• good hand-eye co-ordination
