K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Responsible for the support and supervision of the Asset Protection Department and for advising the K92 Management Team on all matters regarding security and asset protection and other related issues.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Providing supervision and oversight of all security management systems, including Assets Protection staff, contracted security guards and government security forces deployed to site.
• Conduct security risk assessments and develop operations action plans to hold accountable team members for outcomes.
• Develop and implement security improvement programs; to include detailed work and budget plans, procedures, training, and assessment tools to enhance security at all sites.
• Maintain timely communications with Senior Management of incidents or developments that may result in personal injuries, interference with operations or that may cause property loss.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a university degree/diploma in in Security & Risk Management or you have Police or Military training background. You must have a strong leadership and decision-making skills with good interpersonal and negotiating skills. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in security, law enforcement or military operations
• Minimum 7 years Management or Supervision experience in security operations with multi facet teams in resource or industrial sectors
• Site security experience in the extractive industries (Mining, Oil & Gas)
• Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with management, team members, peers, police, and other external agencies.
