K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Complete all work that is required in the surface mining environment – you will carry out all civil, carpentry, and plumbing works required within the 800L mining office areas. This includes, but is not limited to, building construction and repairs, installation of fixtures, plumbing connections, water line maintenance, and general facility upkeep to support ongoing mining operations.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Carpentry works framing, flooring, door/window installation, roofing repairs.
• Construction and maintenance of office structures, walkways, platforms, and storage areas.
• Plumbing works: installation and repair of water lines, fittings, drainage, pipe runs.
• Connection of new pipework to existing services and securing plumbing to structures.
• Concrete formwork, slab preparation and pad construction.
• Material handling up to 25kg and safe use of power and hand tools.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and mine procedures.
• Safely use hand tools, Airleg and rock drills to undertake certain tasks.
• Physical activity involving upper arm, shoulder and torso work.
• Follow all the safety rules and relevant operating procedures.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values
• Cleaning of equipment and vehicle after use.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are physically strong and healthy and have minimum Grade 10 level of education. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• Vocational training certificate (Carpentry/Plumbing).
• Has minimum of 3+year experience in similar working environment.
• Ability to read and write both Pidgin and English
• Ability to relate to mine workers comprising different ethnic groups.
• Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, and responsibility
• Be always very safety conscious and be able to identify risks.
• Must be a local from Mine impact areas.
