K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

In this role is responsible for the effective coordination of personnel engaged in electrical maintenance of the camp facilities, power generation and surface distribution network.  It ensures optimum equipment availability and reliability in relation to electrical maintenance by taking ownership of equipment and actioning any electrical repairs and maintenance requirements in a timely manner. This role will also involves overseeing some expansion projects and Subcontractors that have been engaged.

Key Accountabilities

  • Effectively communicate on day-to-day maintenance issues with the Superintendent and Specialists with other Sections and work groups by providing updates of relevant issues and seeking information or input as required.
  • Liaise with relevant sections to provide input to various maintenance activities, e.g., assist the Maintenance Planning Section in the planning and development of day-to-day and weekly maintenance activities and work closely with procurement personnel.
  • Implement consistent compliance with set maintenance priorities by effectively planning personnel and material resources, effectively communicating day-to-day maintenance priorities with Supervisors, and monitoring and following up on consistency of maintenance standards and practices.
  • Train and direct the Technician Electrician, T/As and Apprentices to ensure they work as required to support the Planning and Scheduling activity and to ensure they prepare work order work packages for the supervisors.
  • Compile Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports and reports on KPI’s and any report required by management.
  • Support Project activities within the Operational Services Group.
  • Create and maintain annual maintenance schedule and budgets include monthly and quarterly cost.
  • Develop Scopes of Work for subcontractors to tender against through our Contracts Team.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience Electrical Trade qualifications and/or higher certification in an Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Must be a NATTB Level 3 Electrical Mechanic Tradesman with PNG Power EW10 certification.
  • Maintain current electrician’s license to meet government regulations.
  • High Voltage Awareness and Switching Certificate
  • Broad experience in the installation and maintenance of power distribution systems, transformer installations, motor control centres, LVHV transfers, and starters; and in the maintenance, fault finding and repair of equipment such as – washing machines, dryers, chillers, general light and power circuits.
  • Must be a self-starter, and very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems to ensure the equipment availability is high.
  • Good health physical ability is a prerequisite, as is the ability to live in a remote environment with limited facilities.
  • Flexible, adaptable and a team player.
