K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our growing Exploration team, you will provide Geotechnical support and advice to the Exploration team, whilst contributing to the production of safe workable realistic mining and project schedules in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• The role is responsible for the Geotechnical inputs and review of designs and schedules to enable the delivery of safe, quality designs and sustainable production schedules which support the mine production team to achieve the company’s production targets.
• Ensure that all assigned technical projects are progressed in a timely manner. Optimize operational mining efficiency, maintaining cost control and maximizing production.
• Ensure that effective systems are implemented to enable the execution and compliance monitoring of the Ground Control Management Plan.
• Prepare regular Operational Plans and reports (e.g., weekly, monthly and quarterly) detailing Ground support status and requirements for the Underground workings, Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and haul road from portal to plant.
• Establish a high-performance culture by motivating team members to achieve a high level of performance and by rewarding and recognising high performance.
• Ensure effective processes are in place for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members.
• Direct and train employees on the Geotechnical SOP.
• Continuously mentor and coach geology technicians on effective sampling, core processing techniques.
• Actively review the work performance of geotechnical engineers and provide feedback to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer including the talent and succession planning for designated key roles.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.
• Ensure exploration drilling and sampling is conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures

About You

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a degree or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering from a recognised University. Candidates with a Geology degree are also welcome to apply. Additionally, candidates should also (ideally) be able to demonstrate some or all of the following:

• 2+ years relevant work experience in similar roles in mining operations.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and the ability to analyse numerical and graphical data, including experience with 3D modelling software.
• Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
• Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
