K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This role is part of the site Mine Technical Services team and its purpose is to provide mine planning and engineering support to the Mining Operations team, whilst producing safe workable realistic mining and project schedules in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure that technical projects are progressed in a timely manner. Optimize operational mining efficiency, maintaining cost control and maximizing production.
• Ensure projects are accurately scoped, budgeted, planned and progress efficiently.
• Collaborate with mine operational and engineering teams to ensure alignment with the mine schedule and plan.
• Report on project progress and provide understanding of any variations.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a tertiary qualification in Mining, along with some exposure to Open Cut or Underground Mining. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• Strong computer skills with mine design (Surpac) and scheduling programs.
• Sound knowledge of safe mining practices and standards in an underground Narrow Vein Mine is essential.
• Some experience in ventilation and blasting design and have a working knowledge of geotechnical aspects impacting designs and operations.
• Sound communication skills both written and oral with good organizational and administrative skills.
