About the role

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will be tasked with the validation of weekly field data from our underground mine drilling program and have technical input into mine geology programs so it can be used for reporting compliance and resource evaluation. You will be a dedicated geologist with great people skills who wants to be part of a highly skilled and motivated team as K92 continues growing.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

 

  • Oversee management of data emanating from the mine drilling programs underground).
  • Technical input into mine geology programs.
  • Database management – input of all data into the database and plotting in Surpac.
  • QAQC checks of all data; compilation of monthly QAQC reports on drill and surface data.
  • Preparing reports, both internal and statutory, physicals and forecast. Complete all reports in a timely manner, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Ensure correct QA/QC protocols are adhered to.
  • Drill hole planning, designs and roll out
  • Establish a high-performance culture by motivating team members to achieve a high level of performance and by rewarding and recognising high performance.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members.
  • Reporting compliance, both internal and to MRA support, mentoring and service in all geology activities, associated with exploration and resource drilling, core processing, sample analysis and resource evaluation.
  • Observe and adhere to the workplace health & safety policies to ensure safety of employee’s contractors and stakeholders.
  • Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
  • Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.

 

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are tertiary qualified in Geology and have strong people skills and work in a collaborative manner. In addition, you must have all or some of the following:

  • Experienced 5+ years relevant mining or exploration work experience essential.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and the ability to analyse numerical and graphical data, including experience with 3D modelling software.
  • Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training
