If you are starting or continuing undergraduate studies at a university or college in Papua New Guinea (PNG), you might be eligible for financial support through the K92 Community Bursary Program. The bursary covers half (50%) of your tuition fees and half (50%) of your academic book fees.

Who is this for? 

You can apply if you are studying in PNG and are from one of our communities: Pomasi, Watarais, Bilimoia, or Unantu. You must also:

• Be enrolled in or accepted to a registered PNG tertiary institution.
• Have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.2 on a 5-point scale (or equivalent).
• Have finished Grade 12, demonstrated “High Achievement” and be able to provide confirmation of tertiary enrolment.
• Be able to verify your residence or clan affiliation through a letter from a recognised community leader.

Getting Paid:

The bursary is paid by way of reimbursement, you:

• Pay for your tuition and book fees first.
• Complete the Community Bursary Program Reimbursement Form (HR-FM-609).
• Attach official receipts for tuition and book purchases.
• Submit the completed form to scholarships@k92mining.com

How to Apply 

The application process is now online and requires specific documents.

• Applications must be submitted via the K92 Careers Page.
• All applications must include:
  • Confirmation of enrolment at a registered PNG tertiary institution.
  • Latest academic transcript or Grade 12 certificate.
  • Verification letter from a recognised community leader confirming residency or clan membership.

Applications will be reviewed by the K92 Mining Human Resources and Community Affairs teams against the eligibility criteria. As part of this review, the Community Affairs team will verify community membership / affiliation with Bilimoia Landowners Association, Pomasi Central Working Committee, Sakimaniap Central Working Committee, Unantu Central Working Committee, Kainantu Women’s Association.

Please note Preference may be given to studies in mining-related fields or community-critical areas.

Once all reviews and checks have been completed Successful applicants will be notified via email or letter.
