About the role
Joining the mining department, this role is responsible for operating LM90 Diamond Drill rigs and recover an accurate sample/core as per K92 mining specification, in a safe, cost-effective manner.
Key Accountabilities
Key accountabilities of this position include.
- Personal compliance with OH&S Regulations and any site-specific rules, which may apply with varying site operations.
- Training of Trainee Operators and offsiders in correct and safe working procedures and the proper care of equipment.
- Understanding fully the terms of the drilling program and liaising with the supervisor to ensure successful completion.
- Ensure all drilling reports to be written correctly.
- Using all of the company’s survey tools, grouting and sealing plugs.
- Bolting drills and face plates to ground and floor using an airleg drill.
- Clear and legible completing of Diamond Drilling reports.
- Work closely with the Underground Drilling Supervisor to assess Operational requirements.
- Improve capability of Diamond Drilling Team members and Surface Drillers’ capability in general.
- Ensure diamond drilling operations are conducted by competent operators in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures and legislation.
About You
It is essential that you posses certified Miner Training certificate in area of handling Hand Drill Machine and must have a minimum of Three (3) year’s experiences drilling with LM90 and rod handler. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.
- Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
- Well-versed experience in mining safety management.
- Of sober habit, a self-starter, very resourceful and with ability to finding solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
