K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Supporting our rapid growth at the Kainantu Gold mine, you will establish, implement and lead a clinically governed, compliant and high performing site clinic service at K92, ensuring delivery of safe, effective and auditable medical care aligned with PNG regulatory requirements and international standards.

This role is accountable for building clinical governance, strengthening systems and capability and ensuring the clinic operates as a critical risk control for the business in a remote, high risk underground mining environment.

The role is also responsible for embedding sustainable systems, workforce capability and governance processes that support long-term development, localisation and K92 ownership of site medical services.

Key / Major Accountabilities

  • Establish and lead a formal clinical governance framework across site.
  • Develop, implement and enforce Clinical policies, SOPs and Treatment protocols.
  • Ensure all clinical activities align with PNG regulatory requirements and international best practice.
  • Establish and maintain clear clinical accountability, escalation and decision-making pathways across all clinical functions and operational areas.
  • Provide direct leadership and performance management of all clinical personnel
  • Define roles, responsibilities and scope of practice.
  • Manage performance, capability and workforce structure across all locations, including underground operations.
  • Develop and implement structured mentoring, coaching and workforce capability uplift programs to strengthen long term national clinical capability and operational sustainability.
  • Lead and coordinate Clinic licensing and registration and radiation and pharmaceutical compliance.
  • Implement structured Audit programs, QA/QC systems and Incident review processes.
  • Establish and report on clinical KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical performance and service delivery.
  • Lead implementation of Electronic Medical Record (Best Practice Program) systems.
  • Establish systems for Equipment maintenance and calibration, Asset management and Medical inventory control.
  • Ensure clinic infrastructure supports safe, compliant and effective clinical care.
  • Ensure a coordinated and risk-based approach to workforce health and operational risk management.
  • Provide governance oversight of external clinical service providers, contractors and specialist healthcare support services engaged by K92.
  • Ensure external providers operate in alignment with site clinical governance requirements, regulatory obligations and K92 operational standards.
  • Review and improve medical evacuation processes and escalation pathways.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical oversight, decision making and patient management in emergency and medevac situations.
  • Establish structured programs for TB, Malaria and Health surveillance.
  • Align all programs with PNG health authority requirements and site risk profile.

About You

Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Paramedicine or Health Sciences.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in clinical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in Clinical governance and Health service management.
  • Remote or resource sector exposure is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience building or improving clinical systems, standards and service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance. Audit and quality assurance systems.
  • Experience implementing clinical governance frameworks in remote or high-risk environments.
  • Experience leading clinical audits, compliance or accreditation processes.
  • Experience implementing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Experience working in PNG or similar remote / developing environments.
  • Strong leadership and influence capability.
  • High level of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to build and embed systems in challenging environments.
  • Structured, disciplined and outcome focused approach.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels.
