About the Role
This position provides first-line IT support to the Brisbane office and assists the Group IT function with routine business-as-usual activities. This is a part-time role (2–3 days per week), well suited to a university student or recent graduate seeking hands-on exposure to an enterprise IT environment.
Key Accountabilities
This role is responsible for providing responsive IT support and contributing to the effective operation of the Group IT function. Part of the responsibilities include:
IT Helpdesk & User Support: Provide timely Level 1 support to Brisbane staff, including troubleshooting desktop, laptop, peripheral, and Microsoft 365 issues, and resolving basic technical requests.
Remote Site Support: Manage and resolve Level 1 and selected Level 2 tickets from the PNG site that can be addressed remotely, including user access, software installs, and password resets.
Systems & Asset Support: Assist with account provisioning, IT asset registers, equipment allocation, and routine BAU activities such as patching, monitoring, and documentation.
Intranet & Content Management: Maintain and update the Group intranet, including content, page layouts, and visuals to support internal communication.
Vendor & Contractor Support: Assist in logging tickets with external vendors and managing warranty or equipment return processes as required.
Health, Safety & Compliance: Comply with workplace HSE requirements and support a safety-first culture in all activities.
Learning & Capability Development: Actively build technical capability through mentoring, training, and exposure to enterprise IT systems and tools.
About You
This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is motivated to learn and develop within a professional corporate environment. Some of the skills required:
• Currently undertaking tertiary studies in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or a recent graduate in a related field.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Strong interest in IT with a willingness to learn and develop technical capability.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues and follow structured support processes.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently when required.
Desirable
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration (SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, IP addressing).
• Previous helpdesk, IT support, or customer service experience.
• Interest in enterprise tools such as Intune, endpoint security, or ticketing systems.
• Basic graphic design or web publishing skills and experience maintaining intranet or website content.
