K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This role is vital for real-time monitoring and management of plant operations, ensuring that production meets demand without compromising safety. Part of the responsibilities includes monitoring the SCADA system, identifying and responding to any abnormalities that could affect plant operations and maintaining daily log records to ensure that there is a clear historical account of operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage plant despatch in line with Production Demand
• System monitoring the ability to fault find, fully understand all alarms and respond decisively when required to maintain effective and efficient operation of the power station.
• Conduct routine plant inspection
• Monitor & Manage Plant SCADA system
• Report immediately any system abnormalities
• Maintain Daily Log Records
• Control Start/Stops
• Carry out shift hand over
• Manage the PTW and LOTO System
• Liaise with operational service planners regarding corrective and planned maintenance activities. Raise corrective work orders where required
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to ensure all maintenance activities are planned and completed as scheduled.
• Revise and follow standard operating procedures

About You

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience in power plant operations.  

• Licensed Electrician with substantial experience
• HV Switching Certificate (preferred)
• Ability to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of general plant and system processes, electrical and SCADA systems
• Ability to demonstrate competent technical knowledge in analysing equipment performance and identifying performance issues
• Ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing, multi-disciplined, diverse team.
