About the role

As K92 expands our Kainantu underground gold mine, we seek to add a Senior Training & Development Advisor to our Training & Development team in our Brisbane Corporate office. The Senior Training & Development Advisor is responsible for contributing to the design, management and delivery of capability building programs and initiatives that support a sustainable approach to talent for the group. The role will focus on building employee capabilities across all levels, while delivering targeted development activities that address skill gaps and ensure compliance requirements are met. This hands-on role translates organizational needs into concrete training and learning initiatives to produce measurable improvements in workforce performance and employee capability.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Contribute to the implementation of a Learning and Talent Solution Strategy and Plan for 3 years to support delivery of the HR Strategy
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing embedding of strategic solutions and programs to build the capacity and capability of K92 talent and leaders including Talent Planning, K92 School to Mine Professional Program stream and other community programs as directed (this may include graduate development, tertiary scholarships, community bursaries/scholarships, and industrial traineeships programs, learner engineer, work ready)
  • Support the implementation of SAP Success Factors
  • Support the development and implementation of relevant governance standards and procedures to give effect to Learning and Talent Solutions
  • Support the reporting needs of the organisation regarding training and development to meet K92’s legislative and mining requirements
  • Design and implement a yearly training and development calendar that supports all the Annual People Program in conjunction with Talent Acquisition, Group HR and Shared Services
  • In conjunction with the hiring manager, Group HR and Talent Acquisition ensure the onboarding process for Day 1 in the Brisbane Office enhances the employee experience
  • Provide support to review, optimise, and implement processes associated with learning and talent solution design to ensure an integrated approach exists between the key areas of Talent Acquisition,
  • Group HR and Training and Development to support performance and sustainability of learning and talent solutions
  • Provide support to the Principal Training and Development by collaborating with operational departmental heads and other stakeholders to identify and nurture high-potential employees
  • Travel to site and other business areas to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, coaching of national staff and implementation of programs as required.
  • Contribute to the analysis of programs and training outcomes, monitoring progress and implement improvements as required
  • Support the talent and learning metrics and reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required
  • Implement an evaluation strategy to measure return on effectiveness of training

About You

Ideal applicants will be degree qualified in Human Resource Management, Business or equivalent

  • Proven history and experience in developing, managing and implementing training and development programs in an international context
  • Experience in mining and working in developing countries (desirable)
  • Experience in analysing, interpreting and presenting numerical data based on business requirements
  • Experience in use of learning management systems (desirable)
  • Intermediate skills in communication and project management tools
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong networking and relationship building capabilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experienced writing training programs, reports, memos, training materials and other materials appropriate for the target audience.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.
