About the role

The Plant Fitter is responsible to maintain all plant equipment and ensure all planning and scheduling maintenance activities are performed safely and more effectively. Also assist the Maintenance Foreman in performing preventative maintenance programs, perform routine maintenance and enforces statutory requirements and assist to create a zero-base safety culture.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Reporting faults and Hazards and respond to routine emergency calls for repair and service within the plant site area.
• Carrying our all-mechanical maintenance work safely and to the relevant standards.
• Monitoring and assessment of plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Completion of daily time sheet with the correct job numbers and time.
• Assist in supervising and on-job training for Apprentices and Trade Assistance.
• Willingness to assist other trades as and when required.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB certified Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining or Mechanical Fitting with 4+ years’ experience in mining environment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Sound knowledge of and familiar with all Gold Processing Plant Equipment. 
• Ability to trouble shoots and perform root cause analysis (particularly in diagnosis and fault finding).
• Must be a self-starter and very resourceful.
• Ability to find solutions to problems to ensure the equipment availability is maintained. Flexible, adaptable and be a team player.
