K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the Role

The Superintendent – Contracts provides on-site commercial leadership and contract oversight to support K92’s operations, ensuring contracts are delivering intended outcomes, and that commercial risks, cost, and performance are actively managed.

The Superintendent acts as deputy to the Principal – Contracts, providing rotational coverage and continuity of governance, with a primary focus on site execution, contractor performance and commercial outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

This role is responsible for delivering effective contract management, governance, and contractor performance across site operations, while supporting team capability and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

Contract Management
• Oversee contract administration across site operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and governance frameworks.
• Support contract mobilisation and provide commercial guidance to stakeholders on performance, variations, and risk.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure all activities are delivered within approved contractual and financial parameters.

Leadership
• Lead and coordinate the site Contracts function, ensuring consistent application of the Contractor Management Framework.
• Deputise for the Principal – Contracts as required and act as the key interface with site leadership.
• Build capability within the national contracts team through mentoring and targeted development.

Corporate Governance
• Ensure compliance with Delegations of Authority, procurement policies, and contract governance standards.
• Support audits and assurance activities while maintaining accurate and auditable contract records.

Contractor Performance
• Drive contractor performance and value delivery through effective monitoring of KPIs and commercial outcomes.
• Support contract review processes and ensure actions are implemented.

Continuous Improvement & Development
• Identify and implement improvements to contract management practices, systems, and reporting.
• Support cost optimisation initiatives and maintain awareness of market and regulatory developments.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field i.e. business, legal etc. or experience in procurement
• Qualifications in leadership management strongly encouraged.
• Minimum 10+ years’ relevant work experience in contract management, commercial or operational roles, within mining or resource operations.
• Strong experience in mining operations, with a clear understanding of how contracts interface with production, maintenance, and site services.
• Demonstrated behaviours consistent with K92 Mining’s core values and a strong personal commitment to safety.
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and engage effectively with site-based teams and contractors.
• Strong commercial acumen and practical understanding of contract negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and ERP systems (Pronto or similar preferred).
• Demonstrated experience working in remote FIFO environments, preferably in Papua New Guinea or similar jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to operate as a commercial business partner to operations, supporting decision-making and driving outcomes on site.
• Experience managing contractor performance, claims, and day-to-day operational commercial issues.
