About the role

Reporting to Surface Drill supervisor at the Exploration Site, you will be responsible for service and maintenance of heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, compactors, bobcats, and ancillary equipment’s.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure efficient, safe, and continuous operation of the underground mine and surface mobile fleet in achieving production targets.
• Repair and maintenance of all company under ground and surface heavy diesel equipment and machinery.
• Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to Trade Assistant’s.
• Identify and report safety hazards and conduct general housekeeping at work area.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB certified Trade certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting with 3+ years’ experience in mining environment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Experience with Mining Equipment like Hydraulic Drills, LHD Loaders, Caterpillar Equipment, Sandvik Equipment etc
• Good communication and technical skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Sound planning and organizational skills.
• Must have experience working on a remote drilling site.
