K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

This position is responsible for the efficient manufacture of components and assemblies of fabricated metal products for K92’s growing mine site. Work as part of a team and operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planning, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.

Key Accountabilities

• Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment. Operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planning, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.
• Fit and assemble metal parts, tools, or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts.
• To efficiently manufacture components and assemblies of a project, whilst constantly looking at methods or procedures to reduce cost and time required but not compromising quality.
• To complete work to the highest possible standard.
• To liaise in a professional manner with the K92 Mining Maintenance Team to achieve the best outcome for all involved parties of the mining operation.
• Fitters and Machinists fit and assemble fabricated metal parts into products, set up machining tools, production machines, and operate machining tools and machines to shape metal stock and castings.
• Sets up and operates line boring machines to bore, drill, tap, spot face, groove, mill, or ream metal workpieces according to specifications, tooling instructions, and standard charts, applying knowledge of boring procedures and machining methods
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications, such as hole locations and dimensions, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and cutting tools to be used.
• Be able to operate line boring machine, lathe machine and any milling, cutting machine require in the operation.
• Ensure safe work standards and practices in accordance with mine safety regulations for all tasks performed.
• The successful completion of daily work to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Reporting faults and hazards and respond to routine emergency calls for repair and service within the mine site area.
• Monitoring and assessment of plant and equipment.
• Exercise due care and attention to work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in supervising and on-job training for Apprentices and Trade Assistance.
• Willingness to assist other trades as and when required.

About You

• Recognized trade certificate Fitter and Machining.
• 3-5 years’ experience in technical area - preferably Mining/major construction.
• Highly experience in Line boring
• Current Class 3 Driver’s License
• Sound communication & technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to work long hours.
• Sound planning and organizational skills.
