K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

This position is responsible for the service and maintenance of Light Vehicle equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.

Key Accountabilities

• Carry out vehicle repair and maintenance work to pre-determine standards; to provide vehicles which are safe, reliable, and legal in accordance with the Road Traffic Act.
• Complete records for all vehicles and equipment maintained as per documents provided.
• Maintain specialist company equipment and tools to ensure they are available for immediate use.
• Road test vehicles to ensure they are in a safe working order.
• Identify and report to the Maintenance Supervisor any vehicle defect during serving & Repairs.
• Diagnosis and troubleshooting of faults, and recommending servicing interventions that improve the operational efficiency of the company's light vehicle fleet
• Rectifying machinery breakdowns promptly and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.
• Ensuring completion of all shift paperwork including service sheets, work orders and daily shift reports.
• Completing all JSA's, risk assessments and documentation to ensure all work is completed safely and as per schedule. 
• Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to Trade Assistant’s and apprentice.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB certified Trade Certificate in Auto Mechanics with 3+ years’ experience in mining environment or heavy construction industry. In addition to this, you will have

• Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
• Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent trouble shooting skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
