About the Role

The Advisor – HR Group, based in our office in Brisbane, provides broad-based human resources support at a corporate level, including support to the expatriate employee group. This role contributes to the delivery of group-wide HR initiatives, standards, systems, and reporting, while providing practical, hands-on HR support across the employee life cycle.

Key Accountabilities

This position is responsible for delivering corporate HR support, systems administration, reporting, and program coordination across the group. Key responsibilities include:

Employee Lifecycle Support: Provide general HR support across employment offers, onboarding, mobility, remuneration and benefits, and separation of employment.

HR Systems & Data Management: Maintain HR systems data and support ongoing improvements and basic configuration across systems such as Excel, PeopleTray, PageUp, and external portals.

HR Reporting & Analytics: Prepare inputs into HR reporting, including data extraction, collation, interrogation, cleansing, and basic analytics.

Business Documentation: Draft inputs into business reports, memos, and business cases to support HR initiatives and decision-making.

Policies & Governance: Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of HR policies, procedures, templates, and forms, including support for audits, risk, and change management activities.

Remuneration & Benefits Support: Assist with remuneration and benefits programs, including benchmarking, annual remuneration and performance reviews, incentive programs (STI/LTI), and benefits administration.

Employee Advice & Support: Provide general guidance and advice to employees regarding employment terms and conditions.

Organisation Development Support: Contribute to group-wide organisational development activities, including labour planning, succession planning, leadership and professional development initiatives, and post-engagement survey action planning.

Travel Requirements: Undertake occasional domestic and international travel as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong corporate HR experience, sound technical capability, and the ability to work autonomously in a complex, multi-entity environment. You will also demonstrate:

  • A university degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Solid HR experience, ideally within an expatriate environment. PNG exposure is highly regarded
  • Advanced knowledge of human resource management policies, governance frameworks, and HR systems.
  • Strong hands-on technical and analytical capability, including experience with at least one HR or payroll system (e.g. Aurion, SAP, SuccessFactors, Workday).
  • Strong data handling and reporting skills, with advanced Excel capability desirable.
  • Experience working across multiple international entities and supporting operations-based businesses, preferably within mining or heavy industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision on moderately complex projects and assignments.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse issues across multiple work areas and apply practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide guidance and support to employees and less-experienced team members.
  • Experience supporting a PNG operation is desirable.
