K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator – Paste Reticulation, this role will be required to ensure the installation of underground paste reticulation and infrastructure is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with K92 Mining site requirements and procedures. Paste Crew – Leading Hand personnel are also tasked with assisting paste filling operations in the function of conducting routine checks and responding to potential issues that may arise while backfilling. The Paste Crew – Leading Hand is expected to provide instruction, guidance and training to their crew.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Operate and maintain underground mobile plant including light vehicles, Volvo L120 IT and Normet scissor lift.
• Perform prestart and troubleshooting of fleet and tooling to identify and remedy issues that may arise.
• Install Paste Reticulation and associated infrastructure, including Quattro diverter valves.
• Operate airleg rock drills while working at heights.
• Pre-start inspections of paste filling reticulation lines and exclusion zones.
• Respond in a timely manner to any paste blockage events according to response plans.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for repair, service and/or support as required to ensure downtime on plant and equipment is minimised.
• Other duties as directed by the Coordinator – Paste Reticulation or Senior Specialist – Paste Operations.
• Lead a team of two Paste Crew providing instruction, guidance and training.
• Support and assist the Coordinator – Paste Reticulation to ensure the rectification of identified clashes in planned paste reticulation areas.
• Planning and assigning duties to Paste Crew to achieve planned production in a safe and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the Senior Specialist – Paste Operations to ensure that all installation QA/QC processes and routine condition monitoring are implemented to maximise results and reduce risk of unplanned downtime.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.
• Ensure equipment maintenance is conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures

About You

It is requirement of the position that the incumbent possess the following.

• Experience underground or in a similar role
• Tickets in LV, IT, scissor lift & handheld rock drill tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Commitment to safety
• Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
• Demonstrate abilities to work within a team environment to achieve a common objective
• Knowledge of paste backfilling systems
• General knowledge of underground equipment –
• Ability to understand and read Engineering drawings and plans
• Experience in the installation of Quattro diverter valves
