About the role

Coordinate and supervise the safe and efficient construction, installation, maintenance, and operation of underground infrastructure systems supporting mine production activities. This includes mine water supply systems, dewatering networks, power distribution, communications infrastructure, ventilation services, and associated underground projects.

The role provides day-to-day leadership, and supervision to project crews and operators, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safety requirements, company standards, engineering specifications, and project schedules.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Supervising underground mine projects crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
• Coordinating daily activities for infrastructure installation and maintenance projects.
• Allocating personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve planned work schedules.
• Monitoring work progress and provide regular updates to the Mine Projects Superintendent, Coordinators and Project Engineers.
• Ensuring all infrastructure installations are completed in accordance with approved designs, procedures, and engineering specifications.
• Leading pre-start meetings and communicate daily work priorities to crews.
• Providing coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training to operators and trades personnel.
• Knowledge of weekly and daily planning requirements.
• Coordinating infrastructure activities to minimise disruption to mining operations.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works, labour utilisation, equipment uses, and project progress.
• Assisting with preparation of material requirements and resource forecasts.
• Ensuring crews understand work plans, priorities, and operational requirements
• Promoting and demonstrating a strong safety culture at all times embracing K92’s CARES values.
• Ensuring compliance with all site safety procedures, standards, and legislative requirements.
• Conducting workplace inspections and participating in risk assessments.
• Leading hazard identification, reporting, and implementing corrective action processes.
• Investigating incidents and near misses and participating in root cause analysis activities.
• Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained within all work areas.
• Stopping work immediately where unsafe conditions or practices exist.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have some or all the following.

• Year 10 Certificate, Carpentry Trades certification or related.
• PNG National Driver’s License (desirable).
• Ability to interpret engineering designs and drawing and implement to best practices and standards.
• Behaviour consistent with K92 Mining’s Values.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise multiple work activities.
• Good understanding of Mining or Civil infrastructure systems.
• Exposure to mine infrastructure construction and installation projects (Desirable).
• Eight plus (8+) Mining / Construction experience and two plus (2+) years’ appropriate experience in a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of safe mining and construction practices and standards.
• Proven multitasking skills and can work under extreme pressure.
• Good analytical and teamwork skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational, administrative and multitasking skills.
