About the role

As K92 expands our Kainantu underground gold mine, we now seek to add a Document Controller to our Corporate Projects team in Brisbane. With further expansion projects upcoming as well as sustaining capital projects through 2026 and 2027 this newly created role contributes to our continuous growth and forward planning for our PNG projects. In this role you will ensure alignment and consistency in document management across all K92 Gold Mine operations and maintain control and traceability of all key Project Engineering documentation.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Ensure alignment and consistency in document management across all K92 Gold Mine operations.
  • Maintain control and traceability of all key Project Engineering documentation.
  • Manage and maintain document management systems to support project requirements.
  • Provide assistance, guidance & training to Project and Engineering Department personnel in using document control systems effectively.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors and K92 personnel to continuously improve the document control process
  • Document management of all approved processes, procedures, forms, templates and similar for the projects and engineering department
  • Develop and maintain the document management system (DMS)
  • Implement an efficient project-related document control register and procedures
  • Control and maintain distribution of drawings and documentation
  • Expedite the review and approval of documentation including designs, procedures, protocols, product certifications and records
  • Liaise with management, project team and all other interested parties regarding the maintenance and transmittal of correspondence
  • Plan, supervise and record document flow to and from all necessary parties including management, client, user groups and contractors
  • Ensure that project documents, procedures and transmittal letters are issued in compliance with the project plans and protocols
  • Communicate and liaise with all Projects & Engineering personnel and key contractors to ensure consistency in document control as required
  • Ensuring the use of standardised formats and templates
  • Track documents and drawings
  • Issue transmittal letters and receipts concerning the documentation under review
  • Coordinate storage, archiving, scanning, and filing of project documentation and records.
  • Assistance in the preparation collation and issue of reports and registers as may be required
  • Administer Sharepoint access and file structure for Projects & Engineering 
  • Develop and Maintain Projects & Engineering information on K92 intranet

About You

Ideal applicants will have a background in Mining or a Heavy Industry as well as skills and experience in the following area

  • Document Control Certification or document management experience is an advantage.
  • Specific training courses related to Document Management and Quality is desirable
  • High level of business administration or equivalent practical experience
  • High level of attention to detail, good organisation skills (methodical and rigorous).
  • Excellent communication and written skills (Proficient in English language)
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • 5 years in a similar Specialist industry preferred
  • Advanced user MS-Office suite (including MS Word) and Document Management Systems
  • Experienced user of Document Management System including Asite and Sharepoint
  • Project-related experience would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to maintain focus on assigned tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience in use of an ISO9001 Quality management system is desirable
