K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

To operate underground trucks and light vehicles in accordance with the supply schedule and to transport company personnel and others as may be directed, in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Maintain good working relationship with colleague workers.
• Responsible to operate LHD’s and low-profile trucks.
• Responsible for housekeeping.
• Responsible for cleaning after use and checking before use
• Conduct a daily inspection of the allocated vehicle and ensure that it is fully serviceable and safe to operate. Notify maintenance of any defects requiring attention.
• Assist to drive and influence proactive safety behaviors within workgroups through visible leadership.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must obtain a minimum qualification of Grade 10 or above with three (3) years’ experience in operating buses, trucks and light vehicles. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Possess current Class six (6) driver’s license.
• A minimum of Grade 10 education.
• Has an underground mining work experience.
• Ability to read and write both Pidgin and English
• Possess certificate in mining training and once a miner
• Ability to relate to mine workers comprises of different ethnic groups
• Must have at least 5 or more years of truck driving.
• Must be able to understand the company’s targets and work towards achieving the targets.
• Have a strong understanding of the mining cycle.
• Flexible, adaptable and be a strong and proactive team player.
• Ability to meet agreed schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
• Mining Industry experience preferred.   
• You must maintain a personal focus on safe vehicle operation.
• You must be of sober habits and able to work with minimum supervision.
