Position Overview

The HV Network Electrician will play a key role in supervising, controlling and monitoring the mine site power supply and distribution network, including all Permanent Power Station generators, Temporary Power Station, Kumian Camps Power Generation, 800L Portal Power Distribution Systems and associated controls - Own the Production, Transformation & distribution of Power across the HV Network.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance of all High Voltage electrical supply equipment and oversee the maintenance of all Permanent Power Station generators, Temporary Power Station, Kumian Camps Power Generation, 800L Portal Power Distribution Systems and associated controls.

• Supervise a group of HV electrical technicians and Power Station Operators to effectively monitor and maintain the electrical systems on the mine site, with reference to the electrical components.

• Ensure operational and electrical maintenance works are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.

• Identify and organise resources required to complete operational and electrical maintenance works

• Ensure the electrical maintenance plan is efficiently carried out.

• Respond to and manage unscheduled electrical and other maintenance work so that impact on the operation is minimised.

• Conduct Statutory 274 Inspections

• Manage teams, rosters, leave and training needs

Qualification, Skills & Experience

This role is ideally suited to someone who has substantial experience in power generation and distribution industry

• Must have an electrical trade qualification.
• Must have an Electrical Workers Licence with over 10 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Must have HV Switching Qualifications and experience.
• Experience in the maintenance of HV Equipment, electrical, electronic, and instrumental equipment commonly installed Power Stations
• High Voltage Switching and HV power reticulation experience.
• Experience with CMMS Pronto platforms is well regarded.
• Experience in mining or heavy industrial environment is well regarded.
• Continuous improvement approach to your work, empathetic and encouraging team leader, with the capability to coach and mentor teams to deliver performance improvements.
