K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

In this role you will assist the Mining Manager and Superintendents to provide medium, long term and /or strategic mine planning including underground mining optimization, design, production scheduling, cost estimations, underground expansion studies, administration of the computerized dispatch system, short term production and capital projects and to supervise, mentor and develop graduate mining engineers.

Key Accountabilities

• Complete to the required standards, all medium, long term and/or strategic mine planning activities for underground mine incline operations, including production scheduling, reconciliation, reporting, portal optimization, design, cost estimations, along with conduct of meetings, and supervision, development and mentoring of mine planning and projects graduate.
• Oversee the operation of the dispatch system to identify trends, problems, inefficiencies, or non-compliance with operating procedures, taking action or making recommendations for continuous improvement through reports and weekly system improvement meetings.
• Ensure all aspects of mining operations design and planning comply with Company policy and statutory requirements including health and safety, environment, and agreement with landowners.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.

About You

To be considered for this role it is essential that you must have a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and must have mining operational experience with 5 years of technical experience in a similar role. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Experience in mining engineering, preferably in an underground environment, with sound exposure to production activities including production planning.
• Strong computer skills with mine design (Surpac) and scheduling programs.
• Sound knowledge of safe mining practices and standards in an underground Narrow Vein Mine.
• Good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational and administrative skills.
