K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

In this role you will assist with underground drilling, maintaining good housing practices, and adhering to workplace health and safety policies. Safety is the top priority.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Provide assisting role in all underground drilling activities.
• Assist drillers and always under the guidance and direction of the driller.
• Ensure that all aspects of duties and tasks outlined are undertaken in accordance with K92 mining procedures and practices.
• Ensure that adequate duty of care is exercised in all aspects of work activities.
• Ensure a high standard of personal presentation, behaviour, and conduct.
• Ensure utmost compliance of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and any site-specific rules which may apply within varying site operation
• Work closely with the Underground Driller to assess Operational requirements
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture within the teams.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.

About You

It is requirement of the position that the incumbent possess the following.

• Grade 6, but preferably of Grade 10 or Technical Courses.
• Must have current Class 6 PNG Driver’s License.
• Has one (1) or more years work experience.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Maintain work relationship with colleague workers
• Must be a Local from the Mine impact areas.
