About the role

Processing of salaries for entire workforce including the preparation and posting of pay transactions. This role also includes compiling end of month reports and remitting payment schedules and advice to Nasfund, IRC and other stakeholders.

 

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Check and ensure all timesheets and supporting leave forms and documents received are for processing onto Pronto.                        
  • Enter timesheet onto payroll system and prepare man-hours.      
  • Prepare and process pays for casuals, temporary and part-time employees on Pronto.
  • Prepare and remit payroll deductions to financial, medical, superannuation and other institutions.
  • Reconciliation of payroll clearing accounts.
  • Prepare and send duly authorized cash calls or authority to transfer letters to commercial banks for employee’s salaries.
  • Maintain reputable relationship with commercial banks and other financial institutions for any salary delays, rejects or discrepancies following pay runs.
  • Prepare bank transfer file and Maintain payroll filling system.
  • Print and check pay transactions before posting.
  • Prepare payroll reports and submit for payment approval.
  • Generate end of month report for records.                     
  • Provide annual leave calculation as requested by human resources department.
  • Attend to other payroll calculations such as pay adjustments, final entitlements packages.
  • Assist other payroll/accounts officer when required.
  • Attend to other task as requested by the Senior Accountant from time to time
  • Maintain petty cash and reconcile at any point in time and at month end.

 

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a Diploma or higher Tertiary qualifications in accounting with more than 5 years' experience in accounting and or Payroll. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, with SAP experience essential.
  • Knowledge of Pronto accounting system is desirable
  • Well versed in general payroll, accounting and banking procedures/systems or functions.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite and good to excellent user of Excel
  • Be a self-starter, very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems with less supervision.
  • Proficient computer and e-mail correspondences and courteous.
