K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our security team, you will receive and transmit communications using CCTV footage equipment in accordance with government regulations. In this role you will ensure security on site whilst meeting safety standards at our underground gold mine.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Monitoring and controlling bank screens in the central control room
• Maintain and monitor all cameras footage of   surveillance cameras located in the mine site.
• Monitor emergency frequencies to detect distress calls and respond in
• dispatching assistance.
• Operate CCTV equipment to communicate with employees, work colleagues, drivers, exploration personnel, business partners and other stakeholders.
• Conduct periodic equipment inspections and routine tests to ensure that operations standards are met.
• Coordinate camera -related aspects of locating and contacting employees and business partners who are missing or in distress.
• Examine and operate new equipment prior to installation to ensure that it performs properly.
• Send, receive, and interpret coded messages via monitor cameras.
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Support and assist the APD team to ensure the rectification of identified defect equipment to improve and optimise availability and reliability targets.
• Work closely with the Coordinator APD to assess performance and identify improvement projects to maximise results, reduce risk and implement cost management initiatives.
• Maintain the Gold Room security system and ensure that the contract between the owners and contractors relating to the movement of gold, is conducted in accordance with K92 Mining Limited`s procedures.
• Continuously mentor and coach technicians on effective repair techniques.
• Identify skills gaps and training requirements and assist in developing training packages as required to close the skills gap.
• Actively review the work performance of APD Supervisors and provide feedback to the APD Superintendent including the talent and succession planning for designated key roles.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you

• Possess current Grade 12 or above education
• The incumbent shall have worked for at least 3 years or more preferably in a mining environment but must have passed out from a recognized security training institution with no criminal record.
• Knowledge of CCTV usage and radio transmission systems is required, including the ability to use a wide range of transmitters, switches, and controls to overcome communication hurdles
• Acute listening skills are required to determine the urgency of received messages
• Attention to detail is necessary to maintain accurate communication records.
• Training in electronic communications procedures and devices is essential
• Background in dispatch operations or electronic equipment operation is desirable
• The incumbent must possess a strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Able to manage the safety and/or security and asset protection department in a resource organization.
