K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

Joining our security team, you will be responsible for the security oversight and supervision of the Gold Room security by effectively employing the contract security deployed in the Gold Room and effective use of electronic surveillance systems installed in the Gold Room. 

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure proper clearance checks are conducted during entry and exit of the Gold Room by K92 employees/contractors and visitors.
• Monitoring entry/exit of maintenance workers in the Gold Room.
• Daily inspections of the exterior and interior of the Gold Room and reporting deficiencies.
• Final checks upon close up of the Gold Room to ensure manual and electronic security locking are okay.
• Notify management team of any emergency inside the Gold Room.
• Secure Gold Room during any emergency or unrest.
• Monitoring and documenting waste removal processes in the Gold Room.
• Daily inspections/ diagnostic tests on electronic security systems.
• Daily checks on alarm systems in the Gold Room.
• Daily checks of electronic access systems/doors.
• 24/7 Monitoring of Gold Room cameras mounted in and outside of the Gold Room.
• Daily checks to ensure CCTV cameras are functional.
• Use of CCTV cameras for confirmation and entry

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you

• Possess current Grade 12 or above education
• The incumbent shall have worked for at least 3 years or more preferably in a mining environment but must have passed out from a recognized security training institution with no criminal record.
• Displays a high level of integrity
• Knowledge of Gold Room Operations is required, including internal and external activities involving Gold Room operations.
• Acute listening skills are required to determine the urgency of received messages
• Attention to detail is necessary to maintain accurate communication records.
• Training in electronic communications procedures and devices is essential.
• The incumbent must possess a strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Can be able to manage the safety and/or security and asset protection department in a resource organization.
