Are you ready to launch your career in mining?
Our hands-on 12-month prevocational programs are designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to kick start a rewarding career in the Mining industry.
Learn a trade, become a miner or work in minerals processing or technical services – the choice is yours.
Our Mining and Processing services programs will provide participants with the opportunity to operate different types of equipment associated areas of underground mining and minerals processing operations.
Our trades program provides participants with trade-specific skills development and invaluable real-world experience in Electrical, Auto-Electrical, Mechanical, and Boiler-making disciplines. At the completion of the program, participants may be given the opportunity to work in one of these areas either as an apprentice or Trades Assistant.
Finally, our Technical Services program provides skilling and employment opportunities in the areas survey geology and geotechnical field work.
Where You’ll Be
Get ready to learn right on-site! both program takes place in the heart of our operational area, giving you real-world experience with all the machinery, equipment and challenges that come with mining.
As part of our commitment to the well-being of those on this transformative journey K92 will provide, on site accommodation and meals, as well as transport to and from work at the start and end of each work rotation.
What You’ll Learn
At K92 Mining, we’re all about bridging the gap between what you learn in the classroom at school and what you’ll do on the job. Regardless of which program you are on, here’s what’s in store for you:
What is the work roster?
The program runs for 12 months, during this time, participants will be expected to work on day shift (10-12 hours / day) on 7 days on, 7 off rotation. Whilst on site, all meals, accommodation, and transport will be provided.
What are the criteria?
To be considered for the K92 Mining prevocational programs you will be required to complete and online application and provide documented evidence that you have completed grade 10 schooling and are a recognised member of the impacted communities of Bilimoia, Pomasi, Unantu or Sakimaniap.
Interviews & Aptitude Assessment
Selection interviews and assessments will then be held in Kainantu and on site. Those that are successful in securing a place on the program will commence on site in early 2026.
