K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to perform the role of owners’ representative and have overall responsibility for managing, coordinating and supervising construction activities associated with the delivery of the Projects for Operational Services.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure compliance with all legislative, company and personal HSE systems.
• Coach & mentor leaders and employees through visible HSE leadership.
• Ensure material construction risks are identified, assessed and mitigating actions developed, and controls implemented.
• Actively promote a safety first, zero harm culture.
• Continue to develop a cohesive team committed to delivering the project objectives.
• Support change and drive innovation and be able to discern and select appropriate courses of action including intervention as appropriate to resolve differing views and opinions.
• Articulate direction to employees within the Operational Services team.
• Actively promote an environment where all employees are engaged and valued and focussed on the continuous improvement of the business.
• Mentor and manage the work performance of direct reports to develop capability of the individual and team.
• Keep line managers informed of critical tasks and progress on projects.
• Promote and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage construction schedules and resource plans with approved budgets and in the context of the overall project schedule.
• Manage construction risks and ensure contingency plans are in place to minimize negative impact.
• Management of both contractor and independent consultant contracts
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project deliverables and objectives.
• Collaborate with the B2B, Project Manager, contractors, and owners’ team to ensure project success.
• Develop and maintain construction quality documentation and ensure construction compliance with overall projects QA/QC plan.
• Facilitate meetings and ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders and the community.
• Manage change and ensure that changes are properly documented and approved.
• Ensure that multi-disciplinary project deliverables align with the project scope, quality, and specifications.
• Identify, select, develop, and retain top talent within the Operational Services team which is required for long term planning and nationalisation.
• Develop the capability and provide mentoring and coaching to team members including training.
• Ensure construction is conducted in compliance with Papua New Guinea laws, regulations, project specific and company standards.
• Conduct regular and thorough inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with engineering, design, legislation, safety, and environment standards.
• Oversee, review and audit regulatory compliance.
• Ensure risk management plans are regularly reviewed and management actions are delivered; and
• Address risk management as part of all material decisions taken.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a formal trade or Engineering qualifications in an appropriate discipline as well as some or all of the following

• PNG Driver’s License (or ability to get one).
• Post graduate studies in Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
• Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training or similar
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction or mining leadership roles.
• Strong projects background with demonstrated ability to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.
• A sound knowledge of risk management practices and risk-based decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Understanding of PNG Safety and Health legislation.
• Good planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
• Experience with procurement, construction, and project management processes.
• Civil and/or Mining project or construction related experience is required
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
