K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Provide front line leadership, support, mentoring and service in all geology activities, associated with exploration and resource drilling, core processing, sample analysis and resource evaluation.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Manage all Exploration sampling activities – including but not limited to drilling, rock chip, soil sampling.
• Surveying and mapping designated areas / prospects.
• Analysing geological data using specialist computer applications.
• Preparing reports, both internal and statutory, physicals and forecast. Complete all reports in a timely manner, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Ensure correct QA/QC protocols are adhered to.
• Drill hole planning, designs and roll out. 

About You

To be considered for this position, candidates must have bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Geoscience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in exploration work. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and the ability to analyse numerical and graphical data, including experience with 3D modelling software.
• Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
• Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
