K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our growing mine site, the Senior IT Officer will ensure all IT systems, equipment, and services at the mine are set up, maintained, and secure. This role supports the team by solving IT issues onsite, guiding and coaching junior staff and technicians, and ensuring all work follows company IT and Communications policies.

The Senior IT Officer also helps with the installation and support of hardware and software, provides administration support, and keeps safety and health as top priorities. This role is key in making sure the mine can operate smoothly and safely with reliable technology.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include

• Oversee the day-to-day running of IT systems and services across the site.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users, addressing IT issues and requests.
• Lead and support the setup, maintenance, and improvement of computers, servers, networks, and communication equipment.
• Coordinate and deliver IT projects and upgrades as needed.
• Ensure regular maintenance, monitoring, and backup of IT systems and data.
• Work with business applications and provide administration support.
• Ensure IT systems and practices remain secure, up to date, and aligned with company policies.
• Train and support staff in using IT systems and following best practices.
• Guide, mentor, and provide leadership to junior IT staff and technicians.
• Collaborate with external IT vendors and partners as required.
• Support safety standards and company values in all IT activities.
• Maintain clear documentation and records.
• Take part in IT planning and budgeting for the site.
• Review and recommend improvements to current IT processes and systems.
• Support audits and compliance activities related to IT.
• Assist with asset management of IT equipment and resources.
• Communicate updates and changes in IT systems or processes to all relevant staff.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a Diploma or Tertiary qualification in IT with a minimum of 2 years work experience in IT roles in extractive industry (mining preferred). In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Good understanding of IT and Communications Systems, both hardware and software.
• Able to explain technical ideas simply, both in writing and speaking.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and support junior IT staff and technicians.
• Additional training or certificates in IT, business analysis, project management, or IT security.
• Knowledge of best practices for IT security and data protection.
