About the role

Responsible for identifying training needs, developing training programs and delivering training to Prevocational Trainees, Electrical Apprentices and Trade Assistants.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Deliver high quality Apprentice Training and assessment that aligns with NATTB and K92 Training Standards.  This will include formal off the job training, on job training and one-on-one coaching where required.
• Assist in conducting training needs analysis and designing training packages to meet industry compliance standards in line with the NATTB requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Training Standards guidelines and procedures to maintain consistently high-quality standards and practices. 
• Validate and moderate training packages as required to ensure we meet the requirements of the NTC, TVET and NATTB qualification framework.
• Develop and maintain, training plans, succession plans as well as the Apprenticeship and Cadet Traineeship programs.
• Administer the administration of the Training and Development programs which including Semi Professional – Trades and Semi Professional – Operator programs.

About You

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience developing and delivering Apprentice and Pre-Vocational training programs. You must have a Cert IV in workplace Training and Assessment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• An appropriate tertiary qualification or experience in a Training & Development position in the PNG mining or an associated resource industry
• Experience in designing and reviewing competency-based training programs and training packages for apprentice.
• Sound computer literacy skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint), and industry-based programs such as PRONTO or similar programs.
• Accreditation from the National Training Council or NATTB is desirable.
• Tradesmen Certificate in Electrical is desirable but not essential.
