K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our growing exploration team as our drilling program expands in 2026 and 2027, you will provide front line leadership, support, mentoring and service in all geology activities, associated with exploration and resource drilling, core processing, sample analysis and resource evaluation. Observe and adhere to the workplace health & safety policies to ensure safety of employee’s contractors and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Provide appropriate leadership, guidance mentoring and support in geology services to exploration.
  • Manage all Exploration sampling activities – including but not limited to drilling, rock chip, soil sampling.
  • Surveying and mapping designated areas / prospects.
  • Analysing geological data using specialist computer applications.
  • Preparing reports, both internal and statutory, physicals and forecast. Complete all reports in a timely manner, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Ensure correct QA/QC protocols are adhered to.
  • Drill hole planning, designs and roll out.
  • Ensuring / authorising that geotechnical inspections of drill pads are completed, pre- and post-construction and pre-drilling. Ensure that regular monitoring of drill pads is carried out.
  • Coordinate drill pads design and construction in a timely manner.
  • Ensure logging of core by geologist is accurate, consistent, and complete; includes inspecting core logs and comparing with drill core.
  • Carry out weekly database checks to ensure logging is complete and following up where incomplete.
  • Maintain accuracy at all times of processing data collected by core shed technicians and data base assistants (core mark-up, recovery, RQD, magnetic susceptibility, ASD, XRF, core photography, cutting and sampling).
  • Ensure that Camp Managers send core photos, timesheets, and daily reports daily.
  • Establish a high-performance culture by motivating team members to achieve a high level of performance and by rewarding and recognising high performance.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members.
  • Direct and train employees on the Exploration SOP.
  • Continuously mentor and coach geology technicians on effective sampling, core processing techniques.
  • Actively review the work performance of geology and technicians and provide feedback to the Vice President (Exploration and Deputy Exploration including the talent and succession planning for designated key roles.
  • Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
  • Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
  • Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.
  • Ensure exploration drilling and sampling is conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.

About You

To be considered for this position, it is essential that applicants have the following

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Geology (Preferable), Geophysics or Geoscience
  • 7+ years relevant mining or exploration work experience essential.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and the ability to analyse numerical and graphical data, including experience with 3D modelling software.
  • Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
