K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

Joining our supply team, you will assist the Supply & Logistics Manager and Senior Offshore Superintendent with the overall Offsite Materials chain to continually maximise efficiencies whilst minimizing cost to the company & overall material supply chain. In this integral role you will assist with establishing and maintaining close relationships with all external parties being dealt with to ensure timely and seamless process of import and export of materials. You will also ensure the workplace health & safety of employees, contractors and other stakeholders and to minimize the impact of the Supply chain on the environment.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Develop for approval, Implement, and supervise systems and procedures consistent with the Supply Departments governance and policies for proficient management across all functions of the offsite material chain.
• Work together with Supply Superintendent, Infield Logistics section, & Managers to plan and execute development of an co-operative operational process and procedures to provide seamless transfers of materials .
• Manages employees responsible for preparing, staging, and distributing materials as needed to mine site.
• Assist with ensuring that KPI goals are met
• Adhering to approved budgets and cost transfers within K92 Mining.
• Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of materials responsibility.
• Confident in resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
• Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and provides constructive feedback to the Supply & Logistics Manager. 
• Demonstrate commitment to and hold others accountable to complying with the K92 safety management systems and strategies.
• Develop succession plans through leading, training and mentoring direct reports to deliver the plan with aim of building a high performing team.
• Positively influence and shape the material department culture to ensure a safe, sustainable and disciplined approach to work.
• Set weekly and daily priorities for the team, monitor progress and report on activity and outcomes.
• Ensure the timely completion of all tasks for both staff and contractors
• Liaise with representatives from K92 Mining logistics to ensure that co- operative working relationships are maintained.
• Liaise with external parties of Government departments, Contractors, to ensure a positive and seamless process for material imports and exports 
• Maintain and perform approvals in the Pronto system

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have all or the following

• Experience communicating with providers in PNG and internationally
• Ability to lead and coach a team with diverse skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels of the organisation and engage all relevant stakeholders
• 7 years’ experience in a supervisory role within logistics or materials in mining or similar environment
• 5 years’ experience of Pronto
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making capability.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Negotiation skills and understanding of negotiation techniques.
• Strong Ability to understand, promote, forward improvements within Material process and Procedures
• Excellent Microsoft packages, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in the operation of Pronto
• Experience in Microsoft suite office tools – Excel Word
• Ability to manage a diverse range of staff
• Strong communication skills. Both written and spoken.
• Qualifications in leadership management and business strongly encouraged
