K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Responsible for managing the activities and operations of the Accounts Payable function at K92 Mining Ltd, including oversight of the six accounts payable team and end-to-end processes such as invoice processing, payment execution, and reporting. The role requires maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency in all dealings with vendors, both local and international, while consistently upholding K92 Mining Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Train, supervise, and support employees in the Accounts Payable function.
  • Allocate and direct tasks, helping as required to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform matching of invoices to Purchase Orders for major suppliers, service providers, and contractors within the Pronto Accounting system.
  • Match invoices to approved Purchase Orders and Purchase Requisitions prior to processing.
  • Ensure all invoices and supporting documentation are correctly authorised before entry and payment in Pronto.
  • Manage the Redmap process flow to ensure timely loading and processing of invoices and resolving variations in Redmap.
  • Verify invoices and ensure accurate and timely processing of all payments.
  • Process all creditor payments (local and international) and related general ledger entries as required.
  • Prepare and distribute remittance advices to suppliers and service providers promptly.
  • Support cash flow management through payment scheduling, forecasting of payables, and coordination with Finance to ensure optimal timing of disbursements.
  • Produce accurate Creditors’ Aged Trial Balance reports on weekly basis.
  • Receive, review, and reconcile all creditor invoices and payments with statements from suppliers.
  • Respond to and resolve creditor enquiries in a timely and professional manner to maintain strong business relationships.
  • Ensure all paid accounts files are accurately filed, tagged, and stored for easy future reference and audit purposes.
  • Maintain an effective filing and tracking system for unprocessed invoices and statements to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to subordinates as required.
  • Adhere to safe work standards and practices in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Perform duties in a manner that supports and reflects the company’s mission, values, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect the organisation’s financial and commercial information.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you hold a Degree or Diploma in accounting and are CPA Qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in a mining environment. In addition, you must possess some or all of the following

  • Experience in Pronto Accounting system is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll systems, accounts payable processes, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with payroll tax filings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in managing payroll, accounts payable, and general accounting functions is preferred
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other K92 Mining Ltd employees
